Vaccine Amnesty month – March 2015

dogVaccine Amnesty month – March 2015

Haven Veterinary Group Ltd are holding a vaccine amnesty throughout March for dogs/cats and horses, whereby, we are offering a complete new primary course of vaccinations but you will receive the 2nd injection free of charge.

Here at Haven we recognise that responsible pet owners lead busy lives, can be away from home or have other financial pressures that make booster reminders go to the end of a “to do” list or even get misplaced/forgotten.

We can not stress enough the importance of protecting your pet from some very nasty diseases including Parvovirus and Leptospirosis which can prove fatal. The vaccination given to puppies will also protect against Hepatitis and Distemper both very dangerous diseases and Parainfluenza, which although rarely fatal, can cause suffering to your dog.

Did you also know that Leptospirosis (Weil’s disease) can present a serious risk to human health? The problem is that once the interval between the primary vaccination course and the booster or between two boosters, significantly runs over, then protection against some of the diseases may no longer be sufficient. In this case, a new primary course with two injections will be required.

When you attend for the amnesty, you will also receive a free health check, free flea check and a chance to discuss any concerns you might have regarding your pets health.

We are currently in the process of contacting all our applicable clients but if you do not receive an invite, are not a current client or even if you would just like more information regarding the amnesty, then please give one of our friendly teams a call at Hedon on 01482 898301 or Holderness Road on 01482 376477.

The weather didn’t dampen our spirits

On a seriously wet day, principal vet’s wife, Rachel Morris, headed to Lincoln to present a cheque for £250 that represented half of the proceeds from our Christmas fundraising initiatives, to Bransby Horses, the UK’s largest equine charity.

We were delighted to receive the following certificate – thanks, guys! For information, the other £250 went to Carr House Rescue Centre here in Hull.
