Hull and Holderness Veterinary Nurses Race for Life

A team from Haven Veterinary Group are taking part in the Hull Race for Life on 13th July to raise vital funds for cancer research.

The group of ladies ranges in age from 21 to 52 with varying degrees of athletic prowess and comprises staff from both Hedon and Holderness Road practices.

The team has been organised by Senior Practice Administrator, Evie Beattie and includes  Head Nurse, Mandy Dobbs; vets, Kim Barrow and Pippa Kaplowitch,  veterinary nurses Katy Pyle and Evie’s daughter, Reegan, a Maths intervention teacher at Archbishop Sentamu School.

Of the initiative, Evie said: “Everybody knows someone who’s life has been affected by cancer in some way, so we’re proud to do our bit to help.  Our target is £100 and we’d welcome any contributions to our Just Giving page”

The Race for Life is the latest in a series of fundraising initiatives that have raised over £2,000 for charities including Carr House Rescue Centre, Hedon Rangers U10’s football club, Alzheimer’s Society and Macmillan in the last 12 months.

Haven Veterinary Group has been treating and caring for small and large animals for over a century and its Holderness Road practice is one of only a few nurse training centres in East Yorkshire.
