Hull Vet Group supports on form boys’ football team

Josh Storey, twins Archie and George Gooderham and Kate DanbyHull and Holderness Veterinary Surgeons, Haven Veterinary Group, held an Easter raffle to help a flourishing boys football team to buy new training tops.

Staff and customer of the group’s practices on Holderness Road, Hull and Ketwell Lane, Hedon, raised over £117.50 towards training tops for the on form team that is unbeaten in Under 10’s Group Five of the Hull Boys Sunday League.

Managed by former Hedon Rangers senior player, Jon Storey, Hedon Rangers Pythons was a new team last season that was formed when the original Hedon Rangers team became oversubscribed.

Commenting on the raffle, Jon Storey said: “They’re a great group of committed footballers and we’re very grateful to Haven Veterinary Group’s continued support.”

Evie Beattie from Haven Veterinary Group said: “We have been proud supporters of Hedon Rangers Pythons since they formed last year and we’re delighted to see them doing so well.

We’re pleased to able to support youngsters playing sport in the community. They’re obviously really loving their football and it’s a joy to watch.”

The winner of the Hedon raffle was Mrs Paviour, whose son runs the Hedon Rangers Academy for boys and girls aged 5 to 7 and the winner of the Hull raffle was Mr Overton.

Haven Veterinary Group has been treating and caring for small and large animals for over a century and its Holderness Road practice is one of only a few nurse training centres in East Yorkshire.

Hedon Rangers AFC was formed in 1982 to provide organised football for the boys and girls within the Hedon Area.

The Hull Boys Sunday Football League was formed in 1959 and currently has over 450 teams playing in 41 divisions from Under 7 to Under 18.
