Welcome to Haven Veterinary Group
The origins of the Haven Veterinary practice in Hull and Holderness can be traced back to post-first World War with the Hedon based practice becoming established in the early 1950s. It was primarily a large animal practice with a small animal practice at Holderness Road later added and run from one of the vet’s front room. Things have changed greatly since those days and whilst maintaining its roots it now supports two small animal branches and one large animal practice.
Our Practices
Both our Holderness Road and Hedon practices are happy to see all your pets – from dogs to dragons (bearded or otherwise), hogs to horses, cats, cows, chinchillas and the whole range in between, be they feathered, furred or scaly.
Haven Veterinary Group has a long history of specialising in pigs and this is still the main component of the farm animal work at our Hedon practice at 34 Ketwell Lane Hedon. The large animal section also treats horses, other farm animals and pet pigs.
We undertake all types of small animal work at Hedon from preventative health measures such as vaccination and neutering advice to in-depth surgical work and diagnostics. The branch is fully equipped to deal with almost any eventuality and benefits from the latest Sevoflurane anaesthesia. We also offer radiology, ECG, ultrasound, urinalysis and biochemistry services to our growing number of clients, many of who travel several miles to benefit from our expertise.
Our Hull practice at 684 Holderness Road undertakes all types of small animal veterinary work. We have excellent facilities and equipment and offer anything from routine vaccinations and neutering to in-depth internal medicine cases. We have full kennels facilities, excellent isolation facilities (to control infectious disease), Sevoflurane anaesthesia, ECG, electrocautery surgery, biochemistry, radiology, ultrasonography, blood pressure monitoring and full surgical suites with excellent orthopaedic equipment. We also offer dental work including endodontics and are fully equipped with an air driven dental machine and an ultrasonic scaler.
Holderness Road is also one of only a few nurse training centres in East Yorkshire.
Haven Veterinary Group currently employs 32 people including 8 vets whose combined experience in small animals, large animals and exotics exceeds 138 years.
