24/7 support for the farms of Yorkshire

Based in Hull, our experienced ambulatory farm team can offer advice and support to help keep your animals healthy and productive.

From routine visits and surgeries to our 24-hour out of hours service for emergencies, we are on hand to support your farm animals throughout their lifetime.

We have a range of mobile equipment which we can bring with us to your farm for the swift diagnosis of any potential issues your animals may be dealing with.

X-rays use small amounts of radiation to produce images of bones and joints.

We have a full portable x-ray machine, allowing us to investigate your animals on farm and to access results immediately.

Ultrasound imaging involves the use of soundwaves to produce images, and is useful for assessing soft tissue such as tendons and ligaments, as well as organs.

We know that every farm is unique, with its own animals, routine and business strategy.

And with those differences in operation come different needs, and we try to cater to every one of our clients through our herd health plans.

We work to create a bespoke plan to cater for all of your farm’s veterinary needs, taking in general healthcare, preventative treatment and anything else that you would like to include.

Herd health plans generally include but aren’t limited to guidance and care in feeding biosecurity, housing, worming and vaccination protocols, hoof trimming and dental checks.

Get in touch with us to discuss herd health plans and how we can help you to maximise our service to your farm.

We know the importance of getting out to your farm and are available from 8:30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday to do just that.

While out we can deal with a range of issues, including herd health visits, pregnancy diagnosis, disbudding, caring for sick animals and minor surgical procedures. If a more complicated procedure or treatment is needed, you can speak to your vet to make the necessary arrangements.

If you find yourself in need of veterinary assistance outside of our routine hours, we offer a 24-hour emergency service to ensure that you are always supported.

That means that one of our vets is always on call should you need them. Just call your usual number and you will be redirected to our on-call vet, who will be with you as soon as they can.

Our in-house lab allows us to carry out certain tests rapidly and deliver results in practice. These tests include worm egg counts, urinalysis and skin scrapes to check for parasites.

Lab work is an essential aspect of farm animal veterinary work and helps us to diagnose a wide variety of diseases and illnesses. Once we have processed results in practice, our experienced vets will interpret them for you and inform you whether next steps are needed.

All other tests are sent to specialist laboratories by direct courier to allow for quick and accurate results. Post mortem investigation is carried out either on farm or at a local investigation laboratory.

Our smallholder packages have been specifically designed for people with smallholdings, enabling you to fully look after your animals’ health needs.
